On the morning of June 2nd, the foundation laying ceremony of the Sports Center of Mingxiang Campus was held at the construction site west of the main administrative building of Mingxiang Campus. Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Executive Vice Governor Zhang Jifu attended the ceremony and announced the start of foundation laying soil. Jinzhong Secretary of Municipal Party Committee Wu Junqing; Provincial Development and Reform Commission Director Li Jinping; University leaders Zheng Qiang, Sun Hongbin, Li Jinping, Liu Runxiang, Wei Anying, Wu Douqing, Zhang Xianming, Xiao Liantuan, Ren Xiying attended and laid the foundation of Mingxiang Sports Center together. Representatives of functional offices, colleges, teachers and students attended the ceremony. Sun Hongbin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University (in charge of administrative work), presided over the foundation laying ceremony.
In order to promote the "Double First-Class" construction of our university, improve the sports facilities in Mingxiang campus, and meet the needs of sports teaching, cultural activities and regional sports events, the university proposed the Sports Center construction project in Mingxiang Campus. The total investment of the project is nearly 500 million yuan, and the construction site is located in Mingxiang Campus. The main construction contents include gymnasium, natatorium, underground garage and civil defense, decoration, water supply and drainage, electrical and other supporting works. The total construction area is over 45,000 square meters, including 31,000 square meters of ground construction area and 14,000 square meters of underground construction area, including 26,000 square meters of stadium, 6,600 square meters of swimming pool, 12,600 square meters of underground garage and civil air defense construction area, respectively. After the completion of the Sports Center in Mingxiang Campus, it can not only meet the physical education teaching, training test and various sports and cultural activities of our university students, but also undertake various competitions and related activities in Jinzhong, the province and even the whole country, which can greatly relieve the tension of large-scale sports facilities in Jinzhong and bring more social benefits into play.
